CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A Rollo Bay West man charged with assaulting a 14-year-old girl has elected trial in Supreme Court before a judge alone.

Aaron Clifford Townshend’s next court date is Feb. 12.

Townshend faces several charges, including assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats and pointing a firearm.

The charges resulted from Kings District RCMP responding to a complaint on Dec. 7 in Rollo Bay West.

Officers found the 14-year-old girl with serious facial injuries. She was transported to Kings County Memorial Hospital in Montague by Island EMS.
