SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — As work continues on the Route 2, Granville Street roundabout, the provincial government is alerting motorists to overnight paving on the roundabout Thursday, Aug. 8.

The paving will allow for the placement of the final layer of asphalt on the roundabout with minimal disruption to traffic and construction.

Work will occur between 8 p.m., Aug. 8 and 6 a.m., Aug. 9. This work will occur for one night only and will be weather dependent. Traffic will not be permitted through the roundabout during this period. Accommodations will be made for emergency vehicles at all times.

Detours will be in place to direct traffic around the site. Route 2 will be closed between Central Street and the Travellers Rest Roundabout (local traffic permitted). Granville street will be closed north of Roy Boates Avenue.

Local businesses will remain open during regularly scheduled business hours.

Motorists are reminded to allow for additional travel time and choose alternate routes where available.
