O'LEARY, P.E.I. — O’Leary council will weigh in whether it makes more sense to have the town’s new recreation director coordinate the town’s men’s rec ball league or turn it over to the league to manage and just charge for field rental.
Council learned that the town profited about $3,100 off the league last year but that it takes a considerable effort to keep the field, teams and officials scheduled, and to perform all the tasks necessary to keep the fields game-ready.
The league has expressed interest in taking over its own operations.
Finance chair Daren MacKinnon proposed an analysis of costs versus effort be undertaken before council decides the route to take.
