A 28-year-old Charlottetown woman was sentenced to 30 days in jail for driving while disqualified.

Amanda Bettyanne Deagle pleaded guilty Monday to operating a motor vehicle on March 13 in Stratford while bound by a driving prohibition imposed for failing the breathalyzer.

She will serve her sentence on consecutive weekends, and is prohibited from driving for one year.

Deagle told the court she was sorry for driving while banned from doing so. She said her decision to drive was fuelled by panic when she felt she needed to get an inhaler to deal with her asthma.
