MONTAGUE, P.E.I. — A Montague woman is upset after discovering crude messages spray-painted on her car.

At noon on Jan. 28, Olivia Clow heard her dog barking. She didn’t think anything of it at first, as he barks every time students from the high school pass by at lunch hour.

But, when she went to let her dog out at 2 p.m., she was shocked to see her car had been spray-painted with obscene words and drawings.

“I started to cry, wondering why someone would do this,” she told The Guardian on Jan. 29.

She then contacted the authorities.

Montague RCMP is investigating the incident that took place at Clow’s residence, which is near the intermediate school and the high school in the area.

There isn’t a lot of information to go on at the moment, so police have reached out to the high school to see if it can provide any video footage.

Police said while the messages on the car were “obscene”, they weren’t of a threatening nature. There were no dents or scrapes to the car reported.

Until Clow can get the car painted, she said she is going to cover it with a tarp.

“People are driving by looking at it, and I’m very ashamed … they made a complete mess of the whole car,” she said. “I don’t like being the centre of attention and I keep to myself. I don’t like people driving (by) looking at the car and laughing at it.”

Police said the incident was an isolated event.
