CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — More than half of P.E.I.’s COVID-19 tests have been completed at a lab in the province, MLAs heard Thursday in the legislature.
In response to a question asked during a previous question period, Health Minister James Aylward presented numbers Thursday for where P.E.I.’s COVID-19 tests have been completed.
As of May 28, there have been 6,178 COVID-19 test results reported for P.E.I. and 65 per cent were completed in a lab in the province.
Of the remainder, 24 per cent were completed at the national lab in Winnipeg and 11 per cent at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax.
Less than one per cent of tests were sent to the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital in Moncton.
