Kensington woman charged after she was caught driving drunk with child in vehicle

KENSINGTON, P.E.I. —

A Kensington woman has been charged after she was caught driving drunk with her child in the vehicle.

In the early afternoon of Sunday Aug. 2, Kensington police responded to a complaint of an erratic driver.

Officers intercepted the suspect vehicle and located a Kensington area woman operating the vehicle with her small child as a passenger.

The woman has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and has been issued a court date in September.

The vehicle she was driving has been impounded.

Kensington police have seen an increase in impaired operations by alcohol and drug of motor vehicle in the recent weeks. They encourage the public to continue to report any suspected impaired drivers.
