Kensington man gets 180 days in jail

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Jared James Madsen, 24, of Kensington has pleaded guilty to one count of touching someone under the age of 16 for a sexual purpose with his hand.

The charge is from April 2 and took place in a Prince County community.

Madsen was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail and three years of probation. He received credit for the equivalent of 150 days he’s already spent in custody since his arrest.

Madsen must also contribute a DNA sample to the national criminal database, is prohibited from owning weapons for 10 years and his name will appear on the national sex offender registry for 10 years.
