Jail time for Summerside woman for driving while impaired

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. – Mary Paula Gallant, 48, of Summerside, pleaded guilty Dec. 13 to driving while impaired.

The alcohol concentration in her blood was over 80 milligrams per 100 millilitres of blood when police charged her on Route 1A in Bedeque, on Oct. 31.

Gallant was sentenced to three days in jail, fined $1,000, is prohibited from driving for 12 months and will have to pay a $300 victim surcharge.
