Seven internet service providers (ISPs) in P.E.I. have received funding for projects that will help them to give their Prince Edward Island customers better, faster internet service.
The funding was provided through the Accelerated Internet Service Provider Pilot, a stream of the P.E.I. Broadband Fund that gives grants to cover up 90 per cent of project costs to a maximum of $150,000.
The ISPs to receive funding include:
- Air Tech Communications Inc.,
- Buzz Networx Inc.,
- Island Monitoring/P.E.I. Monitoring,
- Island Telecom Services Inc.,
- NSEW Connect Inc.,
- Red Sands Internet Inc. and
- Wicked EH?
A call for applications to the fund went out last month, and projects must be completed by Dec. 31, 2020.
