SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. - After saving a Lennox Island man from the waters of Malpeque Bay on Oct. 23, the crew of a Canadian Forces rescue helicopter out of Greenwood, N.S. went on to save a woman from choking at a Summerside restaurant.

Maj. Amber Bineau, a spokeswoman for Joint Task Force Atlantic, confirmed to the Journal Pioneer that after the helicopter crew stood down from its rescue mission, where a man had fallen out of his dory and was eventually plucked from the water, they landed their aircraft in Summerside and went to eat at a local restaurant.

While the group was eating, a woman at another table choked on their meal and one of the search and rescue technicians (SAR) provided first aid.

The same SAR technician was involved in both the water rescue and in providing first aid to restaurant customer.
