SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Ticket sales have begun for the eleventh annual Grass Roots and Cowboy Boots fundraising event in support of the Prince County Hospital Foundation (PCH).

The popular event, scheduled for Sept. 7 is organized and financed by Warren Ellis, owner of Summerside Chrysler Dodge, and supported by his team and his family. One hundred per cent of every dollar raised goes to support the purchase of much-needed medical equipment.

“As the greatest needs in medical equipment and technology continue to grow in both volume and price, this event has been essential to our success in equipping our hospital,” said PCH Foundation volunteer president, Liz Maynard. “Our deepest thanks go out to Warren Ellis, his family, his employees, the City of Summerside, as well as our volunteers and patrons who have helped us in raising over $7.1 million since the event was first held in 2009. We are looking forward to another wonderful evening of community spirit in September.”

This year the foundation needs to raise $2,214,700 for medical equipment and is counting on Grass Roots and Cowboy Boots to help them achieve their goal.

Tickets to the fundraiser, which includes musical acts and a steak and lobster dinner, are $100 a piece, are available at Summerside Chrysler Dodge and at the PCH Foundation office in the hospital’s lobby. Tickets can also be purchased by calling (902)853-7160. Each ticket purchased represents a chance at winning a Jeep Wrangler Sport donated by Summerside Chrysler Dodge.
