CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Charlottetown Fire Department responded to a call at 4:31 p.m. on June 15 to a fire at the Tim Hortons on Grafton Street, near the Hillsborough Bridge.

Fire Inspector Winston Bryan said firefighters found the building was smoke-filled which made it difficult to track the fire.

“We did find a fire at the rear of the building in between the ceiling and the underside of the roof in the voided area,” said Bryan.

The fire was extinguished by firefighters at that time and Bryan said the building sustained “considerable smoke damage”.

“The fire was contained between the roof and ceiling line, so there was damage to the underside of the roof in the structural membrane.”

There were no injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
