SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Island fans of Gordon Lightfoot won’t be seeing the songster in Summerside later this month.
J.P. Desrosiers, community services director with the city of Summerside, said the star hurt his leg at a U.S. show and is postponing his Maritimes tour dates to let the injury heal a bit longer.
Ticket holders have already been notified and refunds are in progress.
Lightfoot intends to return to Canada in 2020, but the dates are uncertain.
“It’s unfortunate, but these things happen,” said Desrosiers. “We’re more concerned about Gordon Lightfoot. He’s a Canadian icon.”
