CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A former massage therapist at a Charlottetown spa pleaded guilty Thursday to three counts of assault.

David Charles Vail, 49, appeared before Judge John Douglas in provincial court in Charlottetown Thursday where he entered the guilty pleas.

Vail was initially charged with three counts of sexual assault but pleaded guilty to the lesser offences of assault.

He previously worked as a massage therapist at Cocoon Wellness Spa but is no longer listed on the company’s website.

During Thursday’s proceedings, Crown attorney Lisa Goulden said it would be an appropriate case for a pre-sentence report.

Vail’s next court date is scheduled for April 8.
