SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — A single-dwelling residence in Summerside was ablaze early this morning.
The Summerside Fire Department received a call at 3:45 a.m. about a fire at a house on Elm Street.
There was no one in the house at the time of the fire, and it is not known at this time how it started.
A representative from the fire department said he believed the fire caused “total loss” to the home and said it took firefighters about a half an hour to put it out.
The fire department responded with four trucks and about 30 people, along with members of the Summerside police.
The Fire Marshall has been called to the scene and the area has been cordoned off.
The investigation is ongoing.
