GEORGETOWN, P.E.I. — A P.E.I. woman was sentenced to 60 days in jail for a handful of offences, including evading police.
Brittany Olivia Mae Clark was given credit of 33 days for time served, leaving her 27 days left to spend incarcerated.
Clark pleaded guilty in provincial court to five charges.
She was sentenced to 15 days in jail for attempting to defraud a bank in Charlottetown during a failed attempt to cash a bogus cheque for $610.14 on Dec. 28, 2019.
She was handed a 30-day jail sentence for stealing almost $400-worth of liquor on Feb. 3 from the Morell Irving Needs Convenience store. None of the alcohol was recovered.
Even though the store was not seeking restitution, Clark told the court she wanted to pay $391.06 to cover the stolen liquor.
Clark was sentenced to 10 days for evading police on Feb. 23.
She was given an additional five days in jail for failing to attend court on July 2.
Clark will be on probation for 18 months after her release from custody. She was also ordered to write a letter of apology to the managers of the Morell Irving and the Charlottetown bank.
