One of the biggest yard sales in P.E.I. is taking the year off due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19 strain) pandemic.

The Wood Islands and Area Development Corporation has cancelled this year’s 70-Mile Coastal Yard Sale.

Every year in mid-September, thousands of treasure hunters have flocked to the eastern part of the province looking for that steal of a deal, visiting more than 150 vendors.

According to the Belfast community newsletter, the corporation cancelled this year’s event “based purely on the uncertainty of how things will progress this summer and the amount of time and effort that goes into planning and organizing the event".

This would have been the 23rd year for the yard sale.
