CORNWALL, P.E.I. — Westwood Primary School now has a crossing guard to help students cross the often-busy Meadow Bank Road.

The crossing guard officially began work on Feb. 18. A request for one had been submitted to the town from some concerned parents last year, so council has been working to make this happen, Mayor Minerva McCourt said.

The guard will be on-site at the beginning and end of each school day.

"And we are still looking for a second one," engagement co-ordinator Tracey MacLean said during a Feb. 17 council meeting.
