TIGNISH, P.E.I. — A Cooper the Bear picnic area, complete with fruit trees, shrubs and perennials, will be created in Tignish’s Bicentennial Park.
The Tignish Co-op’s Member Relations Committee applied for a Community Catalyst grant on behalf of the park and received $1,100 for the special project.
Tignish Town Council heard from Paulette Arsenault of the Member Relations Committee that the committee will also be donating picnic tables for the picnic area out of its own funds. The committee is hoping to involve local youth groups and other organizations in the creation of the picnic area and incorporate a fall activity into the special project.
