CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - He’s been keeping tight-lipped for almost three months, but Jonathan Greenan will finally be able to talk about his “Jeopardy” experience as of Nov. 2.

Greenan, who is from Summerside but now lives in Charlottetown, fulfilled one of the items on his bucket list in August, when he competed on the legendary TV quiz show “Jeopardy” However, he’s had to keep the results to himself.

His secret-keeping will come to an end on Friday though as his episode will be available on any TV channel that airs new episodes of the show in Canada. When the episode will be available on Friday will depend on each customer’s service provider and channel package.

“I’m excited to have everyone see me in action. It’s been a while since I taped, so it’s been anxious keeping the secret of the results all this time. So now everyone is going to get to see,” said Greenan, a legal officer with the P.E.I. Human Rights Commission.

“Certainly the experience was fantastic, the whole ‘Jeopardy’ team was great to all of us contestants in the course of our taping. It was really a once in a lifetime opportunity and I’m so glad I got to do it.”

The experience was intense, he added, as there is relatively little editing done between what takes place on set and what viewers see on T.V. There are a few breaks to touch up makeup, check answers or make sure equipment is working, but not as many as one might think.

He also said the contestants are kept under strict contact conditions prior to their taping. There are rules about who they are allowed to speak with before they compete, which is a way to minimize the chance of anyone trying to cheat.

Anyone interested in watching the episode with a group can check out Dooly’s in Summerside on Friday. A few people are organizing a viewing party from 7 to 9 p.m. and have created a Facebook event for it called “’Jeopardy Viewing Party (With a local contestant)’”

“It’s just a cool community thing, you know?” said John Dalton, one of the folks who asked Dooly’s to project the show on the big screen.

“Just a group of us thought it was great for a local boy to on ’Jeopardy’ and we’re just living vicariously through his success,” he laughed.
