CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - P.E.I. Ground Search and Rescue volunteers were unable to locate a missing 39-year-old Charlottetown man on Tuesday after searching a one-kilometre radius of his residence.
“We searched the area we intended to search with negative results,” said Charlottetown Deputy Police Chief Brad McConnell.
Craig Owen Johnston was last seen on the evening of Nov. 14. Johnstone was residing at 34 Confederation St. at the time of his disappearance.
On Tuesday, search and rescue volunteers met near the Confederation Trail at the bottom of Ravenwood Drive East off of Mount Edward Road.
After going over plans, vehicles dispatched groups of volunteers to different locations at around 2 p.m.
Other volunteers searched a field near the Charlottetown Farmers Market.
McConnell said the search was called off at 5 p.m.
He said a meeting will take place Wednesday morning to determine if there are any other areas that need to be searched.
“It would have to be an area that we deemed important. So, right now there’s no plans to search anywhere else, but after we meet and discuss and see what information is available in the morning, then we’ll make a decision,” he said.
Johnstone is described as a Caucasian male, six feet tall and 174 pounds with light brown hair and blue eyes.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 902-629-4172.
