CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Charlottetown’s public works committee is recommending new traffic lights at three separate intersections.

The committee met recently and will suggest council accept a submission from Hansen Electric in the amount of $306,590.

If approved, traffic signal light replacements would take place at the following intersections — Euston Street, Pownal Street and Spring Park Road; Great George and Kent Streets; and, Prince and Kent streets.

The work on the Euston-Pownal-Spring Park lights will include the addition of pedestrian signal lights and advance left-turning arrows for motorists. The other two intersections will just be lighting and wiring upgrades.

The committee has also recommended council accept an $86,240 tender from Olympia Electric to install LED old-fashioned street lighting in front of the Confederation Centre of the Arts on Queen Street, between Richmond and Grafton streets.
