GEORGETOWN, P.E.I. — A P.E.I. man pleaded guilty to common assault in an incident that saw him hug a woman and kiss her face.
Chief Judge Nancy Orr told Clinton Boyd Herring, 39, of Murray Harbour his actions were not welcomed or appropriate.
He was fined $500 and ordered to pay $150 to the victims of crime fund.
Provincial court in Georgetown heard Herring appeared highly intoxicated when he attended the residence of his former boss on Sept. 27.
Herring entered the home, picked up and hugged a young boy. He then approached the wife of his former boss, hugged her and kissed her face.
“Certainly not welcome contact," Crown attorney Chad McQuaid told the court.
Orr told Herring that addressing his alcohol problem should be a top priority.
