CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — An event to raise money for the hurricane-devastated Bahamas will be held on Saturday at Murphy’s Community Centre in Charlottetown.

Two islands in particular were hit hard — Grand Bahama and Abaco.

P.E.I. has a strong Bahamian community with many connections to the Bahamas through friends, relatives, students, former students and colleagues.

Saturday’s fundraiser begins at 7:30 p.m. and features entertainment by DJ Dynamix, Bahamian performers, Bahamian speakers telling their stories, a silent auction, a 50/50 draw and more.

All proceeds will be donated through the Rotary Club of Charlottetown to the Hurricane Dorian Relief Fund.

Admission is by donation at the door.
