SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — SUMMERSIDE – The RCMP is reminding local businesses to be vigilant following reports of bad cheques being cashed at establishments in the West Prince area.
RCMP said that on Jan. 18 and 19 officers received multiple calls from businesses in Tignish and O’Leary reporting fraudulent cheques that were cashed.
The incidents are being investigated, but business owners are being asked to be extra careful and request to see two pieces of photo identification before cashing a cheque.
