CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - An Australian doctor facing child pornography charges in P.E.I. had his case adjourned Tuesday in P.E.I. Supreme Court.
Dr. Stephen Peter Menzies Murray wasn’t present when his lawyer appeared on his behalf before Justice Terri MacPherson in Charlottetown.
Murray has been charged with possessing, making and distributing child pornography.
The allegations related to written material and, after Murray’s arrest, the RCMP said a member of the public had reported suspicious activity.
Tuesday, the court heard discussions between the Crown and defence were ongoing.
Murray was allowed to return to Australia in November on several conditions, including $75,000 in bail.
He must also check in regularly with police in Australia.
Murray isn’t allowed to access or use the internet other than for work and communicating with legal counsel or family.
He is banned from attending public parks or other areas where people younger than 16 are present or likely to be present.
Murray can’t communicate with anyone under 16, unless they are immediate family members.
The case was adjourned until Feb. 12.
