SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The City of Summerside is closing all of its public parks with playground equipment until further notice.
The move is the latest the city has taken to help combat the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19 strain).
In-person municipal services have been cut back, access to municipal buildings has been restricted and Credit Union Place has been closed.
City crews will start cordoning off all city-owned play structures as of Tuesday morning, but the closure starts immediately.
All city parks without playground equipment, trails and the Baywalk boardwalk will remain open, though the city is encouraging anyone making use of them to abide by the social distancing recommendations and stay two metres apart while enjoying these areas.
