Mother Nature flexed her muscles in West Prince this weekend.
Unseasonably warm temperatures on Friday took care of allmost all of the region's snow. Then the weather turned wet with heavy ran overnight Friday until early Saturday afternoon, resulting in widespread flooding. Streams overflowed their banks, culverts and bridges couldn't handle the volume of water coming at them, and several roads got flooded.
The water flowing out of Carruthers Brook towards Mill River filled Bloomfield Provincial Park, and many area residents stopped by to see the huge new temporary pond it created.
In Glenwood, the water that passed over Glenwood Dam couldn't get through the down stream bridge fast enough, causing the water to backup, almost to the top of the dam.
Highways crews were kept busy, assessing roadways for damage and closing others until water level subsided.
