SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Summerside City Council is changing its meeting times slightly.
Committee meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month and used to start at 4:30 p.m., but they will now start at 5 p.m.
Council meetings are on the third Monday of the month and had started at 6 p.m., but they will now start at 6:30 p.m.
It is not unusual for new councils to tweak council start times to best suit their own schedules and what they feel best reflects the needs of the community. In this case, councillors stated they felt the later start times would allow the public better access to the meetings.
