Two people are safe after their kayak overturned in Halifax Harbour near McNabs Island on Wednesday.
Brad Connors, District Chief in the Operations Division of the Halifax Regional Fire Service, said in a telephone interview that the department got the call at about 3:15 p.m. Rescue crews in the department's boat found that the pair had made it to McNabs.
“Our crews responded, located them, met them, and we actually got them to the dock where we could load them on our boat,” Connors said. “We brought them to the shoreline.”
Connors said neither person was hurt in the incident.
“Our crews did check them over but everybody was fine,” he said.
He did not know if the kayak was eventually recovered.
