SYDNEY, N.S. — A provincial court trial date has been set for a Grand Etang man charged with five counts of uttering threats to a CBC radio reporter.

Ephraim Jean Chiasson, 70, is alleged to have committed the offences last October in repeated phone calls to the reporter based in Sydney.

Chiasson is alleged to have uttered multiple threats in leaving voicemails on the phone.

A trial is now set for June 16.
