Some provincial government services safely reopened to the public Friday, May 22 as part of Phase 2 of the Renew P.E.I., Together plan.

Last week, Transportation, Infrastructure and Energy Minister Steven Myers provided an update on government services would be resuming May 22. Islanders are encouraged to visit the Closures and Re-openings section of the Renew P.E.I., Together website for the full list of government sites and services the public can now access.

Government offices that reopened to the public Friday have put protocols in place to ensure public health measures, such as physical distancing, are maintained to keep staff and Islanders safe. This may mean that wait times for some services are a little longer than usual.

Recognizing the importance of protecting Island seniors, Access P.E.I. is further adapting its service model to better support senior clients. Beginning May 26, Access P.E.I. will reserve every Tuesdays, 8:30-11:30 a.m., for seniors (age 60 and older) only. This change will be in effect until further notice.

Islanders are reminded that only select Access P.E.I. locations are currently open for services from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday. These locations include Souris, Charlottetown, Summerside and O’Leary.
