WOLFVILLE, N.S. — A Thursday night party that violated COVID-19 health protocols resulted in a fine for a Wolfville university student.

Just before 11 p.m., Kings District RCMP responded to a complaint of a large gathering at a residence on Bay Street, just off the Acadia University campus. When they arrived, police found more than 75 people in the home, so they broke up the party, dispersed the crowd and served the main resident with a summary offence ticket for violating the Emergency Management Act.

The fine for such a violation is $697.50.

Nova Scotia RCMP reminds the public that everyone must follow public health orders, provincial legislation and town bylaws regarding allowable gatherings and physical distancing required to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
