Police calling death of Chilliwack man a homicide

The death of a Chilliwack man has been ruled a homicide and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called in to assist with the investigation.

Police were called to the home of Stuart Schellenberg in the 9400-block of Chapman Road in Chilliwack just after 11:30 p.m. March 19.

Schellenberg, 38, was found dead inside.

IHIT are investigating alongside Chilliwack RCMP,  the Integrated Forensic Identification Services and the B.C. Coroners Service.

“Stuart Schellenberg’s homicide is not believed to be a random act,” said Sgt. Frank Jang of IHIT. Investigations to date do not suggest Schellenberg’s death is related to gang activity.
