The Nova Scotia Health Department is reporting no new COVID-19 cases for the fifth day in a row.
The results follow from the 403 tests the QEII Health Sciences Centre's microbiology lab completed Thursday, the department said in a news release Friday.
Two travel-related active cases, which were announced on Saturday and involved two people in the Central zone, remain in the province.
To date, Nova Scotia has 65,608 negative test results, 1,071 positive COVID-19 cases, 1,005 resolved cases and 64 deaths.
Anyone who experiences symptoms of fever, cough or worsening cough, sore throat, headache, shortness of breath, muscle aches, sneezing, nasal congestion, hoarse voice, diarrhea, unusual fatigue, loss of smell or taste or red, purple or blueish lesions on the feet, toes, or fingers is encouraged to visit 811.novascotia.ca to determine if a call to 811 for additional assessment is required.
When a new case of COVID-19 is confirmed, public health works to identify and test people who may have come in close contact with that person. Those individuals who have been confirmed are being directed to self-isolate at home, away from the public, for 14 days.
Anyone who has traveled outside of Atlantic Canada must self-isolate for 14 days. As always, any Nova Scotian who develops symptoms of acute respiratory illness should limit their contact with others until they feel better.
Health officials continue to remind Nova Scotians to follow the public health order and directives by maintaining hand washing and other hygiene practices, and physical distancing of two metres when possible. Wearing a non-medical mask in indoor public spaces is now mandatory.
