A Kars farmer was rescued from beneath his tractor Tuesday after it left the roadway and pinned him.
Ottawa Fire Services received a report at 4:11 p.m. that a man was trapped on Second Line Road South, outside the village of Kars.
Firefighters arrived on scene and found that the tractor had left the road and come to rest in an area of bush, about 15 metres away.
The tractor was in a precarious position and had to be stabilized with cribbing before firefighters could remove the trapped man with hydraulic tools.
The 70-year-old farmer was freed within 15 minutes and taken to hospital by Ottawa paramedics.
