Abbotsford police say they’ve arrested a 24-year-old woman Tuesday night and allege that not only was she impaired and driving too fast, but her five-year-old child was in the vehicle as well.
In a release, Sgt. Judy Bird said officers responded to a report at about 11 p.m. of a minivan speeding through red lights.
Officers were able to get the driver to stop on Walker Crescent in central Abbotsford. They report the vehicle was missing tires and the woman driving the vehicle failed a roadside breathalyzer test.
In the back seat of the minivan, police say they found the 24-year-old woman’s young child sitting in a booster seat, which police said was not properly secured.
Police said the woman, who is a resident of Abbotsford, was arrested and charges of driving while impaired are recommended.
The child was left in the care of their father.
