Weather

SNOWFALL WARNING: Snow has started to fall across P.E.I., with up to 20 cm expected by tonight.

A snowfall warning has been issued for Queens County and Prince County.

A low-pressure system will track towards the Maritimes today and intensify.

Snow associated with the low is expected to begin this afternoon and tape to flurries by Wednesday morning.

Drivers be prepared to adjust with changing road conditions. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

Northumberland Ferries

Departing from Wood Islands, P.E.I. – 6:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 2:45 p.m., 6:15 p.m.

Departing from Caribou, N.S. – 9:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 8 p.m.

Traffic

Road work in Charlottetown may cause traffic delays or closures in some areas today.

Parkview Drive will be closed to through traffic from Belvedere Avenue to Christie Drive. Local traffic will be allowed.

Work will also take place on Elizabeth Street, High Street and Christie Drive, causing these streets to be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic. Traffic control personnel will be on site to direct traffic, but drivers may want to seek alternate routes. Sidewalks may also be impacted during his work.
