The monthly ceilidh concert at the Bonshaw Hall on Sunday, May 26, will feature The Retrofrets, a lively group whose members enjoy playing ukuleles and singing together.
The Retrofrets consists of Hazel St. Amand, Ann Campbell and Barry and Leah Ziegler.
Other performers at the ceilidh, which runs 2-4 p.m. and is suitable for all ages, will include Cameron MacDuffee, who performs with the Charlottetown Festival this summer as Claudius, King of Denmark in the festival’s new production of “Kronborg, The Hamlet Rock Musical”. He will also be reprising his role as Harry in “Mamma Mia!”.
Johanne Gass from New Haven and Bill MacIntyre from Charlottetown will share their voices and songs, and step dancer James Ronahan will shake the stage with his moves.
Local musicians Tony the Troubador, Herb MacDonald, and Phil Pineau will fill in the program along with open mic performers.
There will be a 50/50 draw and homemade cookies with tea. Admission is by donation, with proceeds going to the P.E.I. chapter of the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association.
The Bonshaw Hall is accessible for small wheelchairs and is located at 6 Green Rd., at the corner of the Green Road by the Bonshaw Bridge. Anyone wanting more information should phone 902-675-4093 or check the Facebook page.
