CAVENDISH, P.E.I. – Popular Ontario country group James Barker Band is gearing up for their appearance at the Cavendish Beach Music Festival this July.

The band, made up of James Barker, Taylor Abram, Bobby Martin and Connor Stephen, was formed in 2013. In 2015 they won the Boots and Heart Emerging Artist Showcase and were signed with Universal Music Canada.

They have opened for Thomas Rhett on the Boots and Hearts main stage and returned to the popular music festival in 2016.

It’s been a busy year for the group and it doesn’t look like it will slow down. They have performance dates leading up to CBMF and after their Island appearance they band will continue to travel across North America.

This year the band has nabbed a Juno Award for Country Album of the Year for their EP “Game On.”

The band has been proving they are a force to be reckoned with since the release of their debut single, "Lawn Chair Lazy" nearly two years ago. It became the highest charting debut single ever from a Canadian artist at Country radio. They followed it up with their single, "Just Sayin," which received massive praise from fans and industry members alike and went on the Top 10 charts.

The James Barker Band will perform at Cavendish Beach Music Festival on July 8.
