SUMMERSIDE – Husband and wife musical team Digging Roots and Juno Award winning artist William Prince are coming to Summerside’s Harbourfront Theatre.

The show is part of the Indian River Festival’s special Canada 150 series, and is being presented in partnership with Harbourfront and Confederation Bridge.

The show is March 15 at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m.

“Not only are both of these artists award winners, including William’s 2017 Juno, but he was featured in MasterCard’s revelry released commercial singing the Bo Diddley song ‘You Can’t Judge a Book by Its Cover,’ which was first aired the night of this year’s Grammy Awards,” said Don Quarles, executive director of the festival.

“It seems Ellen Degeneres has embraced this commercial. It features William and five other incredible international artists performing the cover tune and the song helps break down barriers and stop preconceived notions of how people are judged by the way they look. The cover of this song is absolutely brilliant.”

William Prince is a storytelling singer/songwriter from Peguis First Nation in Manitoba.

In Digging Roots, the husband and wife team of Raven Kanatakta and ShoShona Kish, trade lead vocals in their roots and blues style.

Lennox Island's own Hey Cuzzin will also be performing at intermission in the theatre lobby.

This tour is part of the Atlantic Presenters Association and RADARTS' Canada 150 Performance Series and in partnership with the Abegweit First Nations, the Mi'kmaq Confederacy of P.E.I. and Lennox Island.
