SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. - Award-winning Canadian country singer George Canyon will perform his past hits, including songs from his 12th album called “Southside of Heaven” at the Harbourfront Theatre in Summerside on Saturday, Nov. 3.
Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show kicks off at 7:30 p.m.
“I was born in the greatest country in the world, Canada. I met my wife in the greatest country in the world, Canada. We raised our kids in the greatest country in the world, Canada. And when I die they will bury me in the greatest country in the world, Canada,” said Canyon in a press statement.
The musical event is part of Canyon’s “Made in Canada Tour” and will feature a full band, as well as renditions of Stompin’ Tom Connors’ “The Hockey Song” and Canadian singer-songwriter Bruce Guthro’s masterpiece “Falling,” where the original artist will provide special guest vocals.
Canyon, who has countless accolades to his name, released his latest single “Bring it On” to radio on Monday, Sept. 3.
He has been in the Top 10 Canadian Country radio singles multiple times to date. But has also tipped his hat in front of the camera with roles on hit television shows such as Heartland, The Trailer Park Boys, and Hallmark’s highest rated original movie called One Starry Night.
The singer is highly regarded for his humanitarian work that includes the Canadian Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and he is a proud supporter of the Canadian Armed Forces.
His trips to perform for troops overseas led him to be appointed an Honorary Colonel for the Canadian Air Force, and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for all of his charitable work.
This is a musical evening that’s not to be missed.
