Colourful sounds of Christmas come to the stage with a new concert series in Summerside

Get into the holiday spirit with ‘Celebrate the Season – Come Home to Us for Christmas’

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. -  Get into the spirit of the holiday season with a new concert series that’s kicked off at the (290 seats) state-of-the-art Celtic Performing Arts Centre in Summerside.

On Tuesday, Dec. 4, a very original combination will be on stage called The Spirit of Christmas with Lennie Gallant and Fandango. Gallant has just released a new album, Time Travel, and this performance will feature some songs from the album, as well as Christmas songs, along with the Fandango Chorale Ensemble.

Key Murray Law is the title sponsor of the 2018 Christmas Concert series.

‘Sing-a-long Sound of Music’ will continue to bring the fun tradition to the holiday calendar, but it will be no ordinary evening.

The fun-filled and interactive performance on Dec. 6 will give every attendee a bag of props and there will be a cast of characters to help sing-a-long to all the songs.

On Dec. 7, the very first Christmas show with The Ellis Family will grace the stage. Christmas with The Ellis Family will include some original hits, stories, and special guests to wrap up the evening. 

Matthew Byrne and Atlantic String Machine will team up for ‘A Classic Christmas’ on Dec. 8. This will be an evening with soaring melodies, new holiday compositions and rich arrangements of Christmas classics. 

Dec. 9, brings a special show called Celtic Christmas, which will feature College alumnus Patricia Murray, The Gallant Family band, instructors and students of The College of Piping. There are a talented group of musicians and dancers at The College and this is an opportunity to see them perform in a new show. 

The festival wraps up on Dec. 13 with the Ledwell and Haines Christmas Special, featuring Mark Haines and Patrick Ledwell. This is a one-of-a-kind evening, blending comedy, storytelling, and music. 

Ticket prices range from $20 to $30 including taxes and fees and tickets are on sale now. Each ticket purchased gets entered to win a $500 travel voucher to bring someone home for Christmas.
