NORTH TRYON, P.E.I. - For those looking to get their creative juices flowing and take their writing to the next step in an inspiring location, award-winning writer Trevor Corkum is offering a one-day writing retreat at The Hideout on Saturday, September 22.
‘Write Where You Are: A fall writing retreat at The Hideout’ is designed to ignite inspiration and passion, says Corkum.
“During the first part of the retreat, we'll engage in a series of writing activities, responding to creative prompts and looking more closely at elements of the writing craft. We’ll look at what stops or blocks us and how to develop tools to stay consistent with our writing practice,” he said.
Those lucky enough to take part in the retreat will be provided with a vegetarian lunch, as well as time outside to focus, while surrounded with fresh woodland scenery, the protected Lord’s Pond and the soothing sound of birdsong.
“We'll spend the afternoon working with our individual writing projects, creating together in a supportive and structured environment. You'll have full access to sun-bathed Hideout common areas, with wide tables and cozy corners to hunker down in. Or write outside on the verandah in one of our Muskoka chairs overlooking the peaceful countryside,” he added.
The retreat will be held from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at The Hideout in North Tryon.
Registration for the retreat is limited to 10 participants, and the cost is $85 plus tax. There are also a couple of accommodation options onsite for anyone who'd like to make it a full weekend away.
More information about format, venue, accommodation and registration is available on the retreat page.
