SUMMERSIDE – Up and coming Indie-Alt-Rock-Pop band Soul Filter has released a debut single in advance of their debut album “A Minor Conspiracy.”
Comprised of Summerside, husband/wife duo Karen and Mike Penton, Soul Filter, has been performing together for 15 years in cover bands all over the Island.
Currently, the pair are recording their first album, with their sound featuring mixes of acoustic rhythm with melodic electric guitar riffs – think 1990s female soft rock-pop era.
Their music has been inspired by a mix of artists like Alanis Morisette, Sheryl Crow, The Tragically Hip and Fleetwood Mac.
Recently the pair released their single “Armor,” a self-reflective, empowering rock-pop song about fear of love and vulnerability. Acoustic rhythms and guitar riffs served with soul baring lyrics and a catchy chorus are sure to strike a chord with listeners.
All instrumentals on armor were recorded by the Pentons, except for drums which were recorded by Jay Riehl from Stratford, Ont. The song was produced at BigDogZ Recording Studio.
“Armor” is available on Spotify, Google Play, iTunes, Amazon, Deezer, Apple Music, YouTube Music as well as the on the band’s official website: www.soul-filter.com.
