Rotary Club of North Sydney makes donation

Spreading Christmas cheer 

The Rotary Cub of North Sydney presented its annual donation to representatives of the Northside food banks and Christmas Cheer organizations on Dec. 11. This year’s cheque totaled $5,500. The club also donated another $500 to the Salvation Army for their work in the community. Shown left to right are Rotarian Hugh Gillan of the Bras d’Or Food Bank, Ann Nader of St. Vincent de Paul Society, Vonda Rice Reid of the Combined Christmas Cheer group, Sharon MacLean of the Sydney Mines Food Bank, Lawrence Shebib from North Sydney Food Bank, and Christmas Cheer and meeting chair/Rotarian Norm Connors. Also in attendance were Katie MacLennan and Ryan Murray from Memorial High School's Rotary Interact Club, whose membership regularly volunteer with the local organizations. CONTRIBUTED
