While I was busy pondering if I’m too cool to put cleat attachments on my winter boots (I’m not), celebrities were getting together, getting divorced, and getting some heat over allegedly faking their Spanish heritage.
Kim Kardashian is reportedly divorcing Kanye West. I am both shocked and wondering what took her so long. Kim and Kanye met in 2003, started dating in 2012, married in 2014 and have four children together. A source told Page Six that the couple is already in settlement talks and are living separately.
In 2020, after some erratic behaviour and controversial statements by Kanye, Kim stated that he suffers from bi-polar disorder. It is reported that Kim hired high-profile divorce attorney Laura Wasser to protect her $900 million net worth. I really thought after 20 seasons of Keeping Up With the Kardashians I was a retired viewer but now I’m going to have to tune into their new show on Hulu.
Hilaria Baldwin, wife of Alec Baldwin, came under fire for allegedly faking her Spanish heritage and accent. Comedian Amy Schumer shared a photo of Hilaria Baldwin holding her three-month-old son while wearing lingerie as a joke, pretending it was her and her son, and she inadvertently sparked a storm of tweets about Hilaria’s heritage.
“You have to admire Hilaria Baldwin’s commitment to her decade-long grift where she impersonates a Spanish person,” Twitter user @lenibriscoe said.
In various podcasts and interviews Hilaria insinuated she was born in Spain and moved to New York City at 19. It has since been unearthed that she was born in Boston, used to go by Hillary, and only spent some time in Spain in her childhood. Hilaria clarified on Instagram that she grew up bilingual and spent a lot of time back and forth from the USA and Spain, with a large portion of her family living in Spain.
Having dissected all of the interviews with the intensity of someone who has barely left their home for 10 months, it does seem like she was wanting people to believe she was Spanish through and through (I mean, she asked what the English word for ‘cucumber’ was) but I’m also someone who speaks one language and thinks Covehead is exotic.
Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde are allegedly a couple!
Six years and 2 kids later, it was reported that Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis split in early 2020. While some sources say Olivia and Harry have been dating since October or November, they were first photographed together a few weeks ago, holding hands at the intimate wedding of Harry’s manager.
During COVID, plus ones are a precious commodity, so I would assume this duo is serious. Also, can I just say, I love Harry Styles in a flared trouser and I’m happy to give a wide leg a comeback, but can we agree to never again let low rise pants happen? We have to stick together.
