MARGAREE FORKS, N.S. — Three Cape Breton adventure tourism companies are joining forces in a bid to say thank you to those working the front lines locally during the global COVID-19 pandemic.

The companies are offering such workers, from doctors and nurses to grocery clerks, discounts on all summer activities.

“We all have friends and family putting themselves at risk just by going to work each and every day. We wanted to find a small way to say thank you to those who are working on the frontline during this crisis,” said Lee Fraser, owner of Live Life In Tents who is being joined in the venture by CB West Paddle Boards and A Great Day Fishing.

The three companies are working to develop unique experience packages sold through Live Life In Tents’ website. Everything from glamping and camping accommodations, guided fly-fishing experiences, kayak and paddleboard tours, river tubing and more are all discounted for the entire 2020 season.

“The urge to do something is in all of us and in a time like this, it is very hard to just stay home and do nothing. This is our attempt to do something and say thank you from home,” said  Jimmie Pedersen, owner of A Great Day Fishing.

The discount will be available via the purchase of a gift certificate.

“We all appreciate even the little things essential workers do to keep our communities safe, fed, and cared for. You allow us to live a relatively (albeit isolated) normal life, during these very strange times. From our families to yours, we thank you,” said Jeremy Smith, of CB West Paddleboards.

Live Life In Tents is a campground and eco-tour company located in Margaree Forks. You can visit them online at www.livelifeintents.com.
