With recreational opportunities limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Corner Brook’s recreation staff are working to identify ways for residents to remain active.
One of those ways is a “step into spring” walking challenge, with $1,000 worth of prizes up for grabs.
The challenge is expected to go live on March 8 and will run for four weeks. Participants can sign up online and will be given a list of map pointers within the city that they have to check into through their smartphone.
The map pointers will be located in specific areas and provide participants with a code to submit online to track fitness points.
More details on the challenge, which is being offered in partnership with Gerry Chicalo of Morpseus AR, will be available on the city’s social media sites.
